Everyone has trying times and discouraging days. But we don’t have to stay there if we have hope. This is more than an emotion, hope is a steady confidence. For me, my hope comes from God; for others, it comes when the situation starts to look up. (Personally, I can’t always wait that long-!)
So here are several encouraging Scripture verses about hope. May they lift you up today. Have a great weekend!
“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”
Behold, the eye of the LORD is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his steadfast love …
The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.
For you, O Lord, are my hope, my trust, O LORD, from my youth.
When doubts filled my mind, your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer.
The name of the Lord is a strong fortress; the godly run to him and are safe.
When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you.
The unfailing love of the LORD never ends! By his mercies we have been kept from complete destruction. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each day. I say to myself, “The LORD is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in him!”
