Do You Daydream?
I’ve heard it said that adults daydream almost 50% of their waking hours. That’s a lot of time! I imagine everyone is basically wishing that they were somewhere else, with somebody else, doing something else. That’s a whole lot of regret.
I don’t have much time to daydream, nor to second-guess: coulda, woulda, shoulda. I recall a time in my life when I lived in a war zone where missiles fell every night. I certainly wasn’t daydreaming and I didn’t have much time to dream at night, either.
But that’s all behind me.
Probably be pretty surprised, because first I would have to play the lottery-!
Let’s see…. What would I do? What would you do? Take a cruise? Give to charity? Buy a new car or house? Fix the one you have? Pay off a school loan? Set up college funds for your children or grandchildren? Go on a trip? Invest?
Hmmm… all of the above. Everything looks good when you have plenty of cash.
That might be a topic for another day’s blog.
Tricky business, this daydreaming stuff…. Is daydreaming a waste of time, counterproductive toward really moving toward our goals, or does it ignite our goals, to be able to get a vision of what we truly want?
