Monday Mottoes – #125
While the blizzard blew up and down the East Coast of the US, we sat with perhaps a tiny shred of guilt with friends by a sunny, beachside restaurant reminiscent of New England, but in appearance only. Sure it was chilly outside, but inside, awash with soothing gray and blue and white decor. We had escaped the snow.
We would wait and see about our home in the midst of the seeming-Siberian Mid-Atlantic. Did the power go off during Winter Storm Jonas? Was there any damage or destruction under the weight of heavy snow? For now, we enjoyed seafood salads and laughed non-stop with the kids enjoying these dear family friends, second grandparents of sorts. They were sweet enough to be able to ask our teens questions about how they helped around the house and gave advice about goals for the future. All while poking fun at themselves and how their marriage survived over five decades….
Which brings us to today’s motto:
Now there’s a thought, lol.
As those of us who deal with problems head-on, there may be another way. For now, we would ignore full moons and high tides and storm surge. I would look forward to rising temperatures and sunny skies, followed by anticipated rains, hoping that all of the above might naturally dig us out in our absence. Digging us out of adolescence might be another matter….
Happy Monday, everyone!
