Monday Mottoes – #138

common-sense1Amazing individuals who lived long ago yet speak into our lives. One of the things that makes many of them great is their ability to impart wisdom across the centuries. Not only did they accomplish much and make a name for themselves; they are willing to share insights with us.

Today, we turn to another quote by Thomas Edison. So often, his observations just nail it for me. These understandings may be applied to a multiplicity of situations spanning from education, to careers, to relationships. Which brings us to today’s motto:

“The three great essentials to achieve anything worthwhile are, first, hard work; second, stick-to-itiveness; third, edisoncommon sense.” ~ Thomas A. Edison

Take any one of these three components without the others and you’ll definitely get somewhere in life. Take any two of three and you’ll go farther. But with all three of the pillars, you have a foundation that will literally springboard you into your intended destiny.

Thank you, Mr. Edison. Hard work, stick-to-itiveness and commonsense. Got it.

Happy Monday, everyone!
