Monday Mottoes – #161
We have come through the hurricane, the storm, the wind, the rain and the rising flood waters. The aftermath and the cleanup in the Southeastern US continues as rivers continue to crest for the next several days. Those of us who have survived storms understand that vigilance is required for three phases: pre-storm preparation, how to weather the storm itself, and how to stay safe after a storm when most accidents happen.
It was a poignant half-a-week in many ways. My own wedding anniversary was put on hold as Hurricane Matthew bore down upon us. I considered the storm and then the storms of life. Some residents refused to evacuate if their neighborhood was ordered to go, some felt that no storm would ever dare to cross their path, some ignored the fact that rain and wind alone could do tremendous damage.
“No relationship is all sunshine, but two people can share one umbrella and survive the storm together.”
In other words, what can drive you apart can also hold you together. Huddle together in order to head through.
Make it a great Monday, everyone! Hug those you love and keep them close.
