Monday Mottoes – #162
Often, truth IS difficult. It’s raw, it’s in your face, it’s “Let me give this to you, straight.” Truth is not for the faint of heart.
Truth presupposes that we can believe a lie. Occasionally, an untruth is more palatable. However, the easy-way-out often ricochets, and that’s the problem of not being on the up-and-up. Which brings us to today’s motto:
Why short-change ourselves? If we are in a situation, or around people with whom we cannot be honest, why do this? In my experience, friends have been known to change. You see or hear them do things that are less than stellar. Do you call them on it?
It depends. Not everyone wants to hear the truth. So you might try to give them small nibbles of truth and see if they spit it out. If so, forget about tossing them another bite. You attempted to give them what you felt they needed to know.
Be true to yourself and to others. We will only understand the future by ensuring that all is clear and honest in the present. Be honest, be real, don’t let the world squeeze you into its mold no matter how easy that might be.
Make it a great day, everyone.
