Monday Mottoes – #197

thWe’re approaching American Independence Day on July 4th and there are parades, cookouts, family beach outings and flags everywhere. It’s a special feeling, a pride in one’s country, not that America is perfect, but if you’re willing to live and let live, if you’re willing to work hard and enjoy the benefits of your labor, it’s pretty well guaranteed that a decent life will be yours.

We are blessed.

And our freedom came with a price, the cost of those who risked their lives, fortunes and sacred honor… back in a time when there were things that were sacred and some actually possessed honor to risk. Many lost homes, positions, lands and family members. Many gave their lives.

Which brings us to today’s quote:

“Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, Spirit_of_'76protected, and handed on for them to do the same.” ~Ronald Reagan

Today, we must keep in mind that our fight is not against other Americans. To make a better United States, we must first be united. We must respect one another and work, instead of fight, to make America great again. There is a difference in liberty versus anarchy.

May we all be willing to do what it takes to give our best efforts to change things in a positive way, rather than cause unrest to our peaceful shores. Consider what role you might play.
