Monday Mottoes – #207

thNatural disasters happen, but humanity’s kindness and God’s help happen greater. I do not believe that natural disasters are God’s automatic judgment on a nation— if that were the case, I’m not sure any of us would be here. I wouldn’t rule it out in extreme cases, such as Sodom and Gomorrah, but as the Bible says, “He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous” (Matthew 5:45).

Bad stuff happens.

In the United States, we’ve been hit by Hurricane Harvey and by Hurricane Irma, along with raging wildfires in the West. Our hearts and wallets open to those who are most affected, homethose who have lost homes, vehicles, businesses, houses of worship, schools and even some lives. Millions may be without even electricity for weeks to come.

Rebuilding has become a sad synonym for the very last resort. Nobody wants to rebuild. Rebuilding takes time and effort and starting all over again. It’s exhausting. But what are the alternatives? Turn it around to make the new you something even bigger and better.

Which brings us to today’s motto:

“Start today creating a vision for yourself, your life, and your career. Bounce back from adversity and create what you want, rebuild and new-directionrebrand. Tell yourself it’s possible along the way, have patience, and maintain peace with yourself during the process.” ~Germany Kent

And because this is such big devastation, let’s go for another today from the same writer:

“Never underestimate the power you have to take your life in a new direction.”

I like that. You may be surrounded by people or circumstances that try to swamp your ship, but allow the flood beneath you to lift you up and over.

Despite it all, make it a great Monday, everyone!
