Monday Mottoes – #71

enjoy-life-16Scores of us live very busy lives. That’s almost a given in this day and age, unless you go out of your way not to be part of any socializing, spiritualizing, careers or familial duties. Even everyday errands take time.

I know you needed me to point that out.

You’re welcome.

So here we all are, flying along, trying to fit in 650_Enjoying_Lifeimportant things like family time, exercise time, Bible study time, networking and job advancement time, cooking or cleaning time. (Laundry time has never proved very challenging for us because we often throw a load in the washer when we go to bed. I believe in machines multi-tasking for me while I’m snoozing. Problem is, if you forget to wake up in the middle of the night and toss it in the dryer—family members can become quite touchy about their wet socks and underwear the next morning.)

every-dayWhich always goes to show me that some children who shall remain nameless but not guiltless have a practice of throwing into the laundry hamper every sock on the face of the earth, some quite clean indeed, simply because they couldn’t be bothered to empty the clean hamper from the last load of wash, instead picking out clothes at whim, while filling it back up with more dirty articles being tossed on top of the clean clothing. Are you getting this?

But enough about us—the last thing you may need on a Monday morning! Which brings me to today’s motto:

“Every day do something that will inch you closer to a better tomorrow.” ~Doug Firebaugh

Doesn’t have to be big. Doesn’t have to be earthshaking or monumental. Just a bit more every day, kind DeskLgof like circuit training when pressed for time. Keep moving on to the next station.

I believe in finishing a job. Why organize part of the closet and not all of the closet?

Probably because I won’t get to it otherwise because I don’t have 57 free hours at my immediate disposal…. But I might have 30 minutes or an hour that I could carve out….

Maybe it’s a big work presentation, home repairs, car maintenance, learning something new, making time for a mate, interacting with the kids or pets, giving attention to your health. Don’t wait until the situation is beyond desperate—even dribs and drabs on a daily basis will get you somewhere.

So make it somewhere nice.

Happy Monday, everyone!
