Monday Mottoes – #90

joyTwo people go through the exact, same experience. One sees it as a growth opportunity; the other sees it as harmful and destructive.

How we internally and verbally frame situations and circumstances determines how we build our lives, similar to framing a building. This gives it shape. And we can shape our lives to a certain extent, whether large or small.

I’m aiming for large. And I’m aiming for positive. Somewhat.

This is all a bit new to me. Personally, I can envision disaster lurking around every corner. It’s a sunrisespecial knack of mine that I’m ready to give up. A knack for negativity, lol.

Possibly those of us who, by necessity, engage in large amounts of editing or writing possess the skill of focusing on the one error, of unearthing the single wrong turn of the phrase, of pointing out that there was no continuity nor bridge between paragraphs… and it spills over into every other area of life. The project was due last week, the house needs to be painted, the car’s tires are low on air, it’s time for the children to go to the dentist, we need a staff meeting pronto….

two-waysSomeone has to be up on these things…. Which brings us to today’s motto:

“There are two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.” ~ Albert Einstein

Here was a guy who had real problems in everyday life, yet gave himself to his love of physics. It took him time to discover what truly stimulated his intellectual curiosity, while not shutting off deep thoughts such as these about life.

Everything as though a miracle. Not just a coincidence. What a positively transformational outlook. Ponder that today and see just where it might lead.

Happy Monday, everyone!
