Muslims Throw Temper Tantrums Over Jerusalem

hamasThe Jewish connection to Jerusalem dates back to approximately 1000 BC when David established the city as the capital of his people. In response to God’s direction, the First Temple was built there by Solomon, followed by the Herod’s Second Temple in use during the time of Jesus. Jewish people have always venerated this city, prayed in synagogues facing this city, and come on three pilgrimages per year to worship in this city.

There are no Muslim prayers mentioning Jerusalem. There are no pilgrimage festivals for MideastMuslims to travel there. Not once does the Quran mention Jerusalem.

That’s how holy Jerusalem is for Muslims.

Daniel Pipes, president of the Middle East Forum and foremost expert, observes: “The city never served as capital of a sovereign Muslim state, and it never became a cultural or scholarly center. Little of political import by Muslims was initiated there. One comparison makes this point most clearly: Jerusalem appears in the Jewish Bible 669 times and Zion (which usually means Jerusalem, sometimes the Land of Israel) 154 times, or 823 times in all. The Christian Bible mentions Jerusalem 154 times and Zion 7 times.”

PALESTINIAN-GAZA-ISRAEL-CONFLICT-HAMASYet now, when President Trump is declaring that it’s high time that the U.S. moves its embassy to Israel’s capital city, Jerusalem, the Palestinian Authority and the terrorist organization Hamas throw a fit. A hissy fit. A temper tantrum.

Hamas is calling Palestinians to stage a day, or days, of “rage” over American plans to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. Naturally, in Arabic, it was a very strongly worded statement to rise up “with all available means” after they will be stirred up to a frenzy at this Friday’s prayers in their mosques. A holy day, indeed. Sanitized versions of the quotes on social media called for anti-Israel and anti-U.S. protests.

The Turkish president, harbinger of democracy and goodwill, has also issued threats Mideast-hamasagainst the U.S., that Jerusalem represents a “red line” for all Muslims. Resist is the watchword of the day, calling on youth and up to defeat any attempt to Judaize Jerusalem.

Hmm…. let’s see: Jerusalem was the Jewish capital since 1000 B.C. Muslims did not show up there until the mid-600s A.D. In reality, the Muslims are attempting to Islamicize the Jewish capital.

And so it goes. Let’s hope that the “red line” is not a call for unnecessary shedding of blood by Muslims because of the temper tantrums of their own leaders.  If anything, they should be working toward a better life for their own people, building schools, hospitals and businesses, instead of destroying and rampaging.  It’s time to grow up.  The world is watching.
