My New Love: Mason Jars
Okay, I get it, I’m coming late to the party. Mason jars have been around for a number of years. Practically every country music star, Duck Dynasty and Farmer Jones type of blog uses Mason jars in their lush photos of iced tea on the back porch. I understand that it’s redneck culture, if that’s not a mutually exclusive term. It’s a fun look for a lemonade on the beach or a backyard barbecue.
I would imagine. I guess I’m just not big on drinking out of a canning jar intended for pickled peppers, but whatever.
Anyhoo, I recently needed to find some lighting alternatives for a big indoor/ outdoor renovation and I came across… drumroll even though you probably know about them already… Mason jar chandeliers. Never mind that they were dripping with prisms, or teardrop crystals, and sometimes even painted a light turquoise. The chandeliers held candles, regular light bulbs, or small decorative bulbs.
They were spectacular.
Where I had been?
I’ll tell you: Rumpelstiltskin has been in a coma, typing away for 20 hours a day. While I’ve been sleeping, Mason jars have taken over the design world.
I thought you should be the first to know.
